Back in January I subscribed to this little package that I like to call a miracle box. This miracle box is delivered monthly and includes five different beauty product samples. Sounds pretty amazing, right? What's so perfect about this is that I never seem to try new products, but this gives me the chance to try out new things and find what suits me best!
Once my box had arrived at the end of the month I was so eager to open it up and try everything, but I waited to try and work out how I can tell you all about the little goodies. And so, after staring at the box for some time I figured I'd split the five products into two blog posts where I can do a bit of a little review for you all! This little review includes Anatomicals "puffy the eye bag slayer", a face masks and tweezers.
I also have to add in that the packaging is the darn cutest thing I've ever seen, and I am such a sucker for nice packaging.
And so, without further rambling, here we go!
1. Anatomicals "Puffy the Eye Bag Slayer" wake-up under eye patches

I don't know where to begin with this little god send. I was so skeptical at first, but this actually works! All you need to do is cleanse your face, then apply the patches right under your eye, forget about them for half an hour and it's done!
The aim of these under eye patches is to reduce morning under eye puffiness and dark circles. They reduce the appearance of wrinkles or fine lines and they make you generally look more awake!
In the mornings I tend to have a bit of puffiness and I definitely have bad dark under eye circles, so I was so excited to give this product a go. As you can see from the before and after photo below, the results were incredible.
The dark circles under my eyes went from making me look like a zombie, to almost non-existent! This product was incredible and I would recommend this to anyone who has the same issue as me with looking like something out of the walking dead in the morning!
2. The Vintage Cosmetic Company tweezers

Well, I don't really know what I can say about tweezers, after all they all serve the exact same purpose so it's difficult to really review it. However, the little floral design on the one side of the tweezers is adorable.
Thinking ahead to when I'm working on clients, the only downside to these tweezers is that the printed side is, at least I assume from the feel of it, plastic. When it comes to sterilising tools in heated equipment such as an autoclave, the plastic would melt off! Not practical for salon use, but for personal use only they are lovely!
3. Montagne Jeunesse's "Passion Peel off" deep cleanse, puffy and protect, pulped pomegranate face mask

In my box this month I received two masks from Montagne Jeunesse, one a peel off and one a thicker setting, wash off mask.
I decided to give the peel off mask a go first, and while I've tried plenty of masks by Montagne Jeunesse over several years, as they're sold on a lot of counters in popular stores, I've not really tried peel off face masks for a long time. This was a perfect opportunity to try one out and see how well it worked for me.
Sadly I have to say that the peel off mask didn't do my skin a lot of favours, if anything I found my skin broke out a lot after and made my skin feel a little tight once it had been peeled off. Not to mention I felt as though I was having my entire face waxed while I was peeling it off! I coated the mask on as evenly as I could, but by the time it was supposed to come off some patches hadn't set, so I couldn't really get it off! This was really disappointing for me, but then I suppose not all skin types are going to suit different types of masks. While I have a combination skin type, typically with an oily T-Zone, I was hoping this would be okay for me. Unfortunately, the only benefit I really noticed from it was that it made my skin feel a little softer to touch than it was before, however my skin did feel a little tight and a little… kind of dry on my nose and forehead! Very weird.
While this mask didn't work for me, I am very excited to try out the other Montagne Jeunesse mask I've received, because I have higher expectations from a wash off mask compared to this uncomfortable peel off mask!
