Review: Giovanni Eco Chic Cosmetics and Big Eyes

Hello again!

For a start I just wanted to apologise about my lack of posting. The past few months have been very stressful, having lost a dear friend suddenly, saying goodbye to my poor old dog and the stress of college coming to an end on top of that, it's been really hard to really focus on getting a blog post in! But I am back now, I'm back into my usual routine and I'm focused on blogging again. So hello again, and thank you to the few of you who have stuck around and patiently waited for the dust to settle.

Today I'm going to be reviewing a couple of things out of my second little miracle box!

Giovanni Eco Chic Cosmetics Chic Ultra-moist Range
£7.99 for 251ml from www.healthbeautynetwork.co.uk

"Giovanni Eco Chic Cosmetics is the #1 selling natural hair care brand in the United States. Contains natural ingredients including Moroccan argan oils, avocado and papaya to treat and nourish your scalp."

The sachets I received in my box included a shampoo, conditioner and a hair mask for dry and damaged hair. The first thing I noticed when I opened the sachets were the smell, it was such a lovely and soft smell.

"A delectable blend of buttery avocado and golden olive oil, formulated in our exclusive Dual Moisture Complex to replenish hair that feels dull, lifeless and brittle."

For a while now, my hair had been in quite a bad state. So I've been on a hunt for some good deep conditioning products, while I've found or heard of a couple that I am going to try out (I will post my reviews of them on here for you all as well!), I have to say this little godsend really did come at the right time!

The Ultra Moist Shampoo "will not strip or fade colour. Ideal for hair that's heat-styled often" - perfect for me! I have dyed red hair and I straight or curl my hair almost every day. "Lather in moisture, shine and control as the first step to your glossiest, most glamorous hair."

After I washed out the shampoo I decided to just test out the Deep Deep Moisture Hair Mask right away! "After shampooing, slowly massage mask into hair from roots to ends. Leave in for 3-10 minutes, then rinse out for more luxurious luster. Use as often as needed. Our rich formula improves rough texture and makes hair sensuously touchable" I noticed that the mask was almost a waxy texture, which isn't like any other mask I've tried before so I was a little unsure how it'd turn out. However, the waxy texture made it easier to apply evenly onto my hair and it spread so well that there was great coverage from roots to ends. "Avocado oil beads add an extra dose of nourishment."

Lastly, I put on the Ultra Moist Conditioner "After shampooing, add moisture and de-tangle for hair that's full of shine, soft and easy to manage."

Once I'd washed off the conditioner and I'd let my hair dry naturally, honestly it felt a little dry to begin with. However once I'd brushed it through and styled my hair, it felt so soft, silky and rehydrated! I can honestly say this product is absolutely lovely and I would definitely use again, and I'm planning to purchase some more!

Maybelline New York Big Eyes Mascara
£8.99 from www.boots.com

This lovely mascara comes with a push up brush for your top lashes and a mini brush for your bottom lashes, which I found such a good idea. Usually when I try to apply mascara to my bottom lashes I end up either covering myself in mascara or putting so much onto my bottom lashes that they look like spider's legs!

The mini brush was amazing, it worked so well, just giving that extra bit of length to my bottom lashes without it being too spider legged or clogging up. However, the brush for the top lashes I wasn't so keen on. I think after a while you adapt and get used to whichever brushes you prefer and it becomes difficult to really used other mascaras after that, and this may well be the case. For me I found the mascara a little too clumpy and the brush a little too thick.

When I compare this mascara to my Mac mascara, the Mac brush opens out my lashes so they look long, dark and full. To me Big Eyes Mascara just didn't give my lashes much length and kind of piled on a lot of mascara in thick layers.

I'll probably still continue to use the brush for my bottom lashes, but use my Mac mascara for my top lashes. And if I were to go back to a more affordable mascara, it'd probably be The One By One Volum' Express by Maybelline, as I just prefer the brush!

Again, sorry about the lack of posting. That'll be changing now. I hope you enjoyed reading this review! I'd love to hear back from you over on my twitter or facebook page!
